Sophie Johnston

Sophie has 12 years experience working with pre-school and school aged children across settings including clinic, schools (mainstream and special needs), and in the home. She works with children with a range of needs including language delay/disorder, speech difficulties and mild to severe and profound learning difficulties. She is experienced in supporting children with social communication disorders and Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and those with eating and drinking difficulties. She has worked in the UK and New Zealand within healthcare, education, and private practice. Sophie is originally from the UK and moved to Tauranga in the Western Bay of Plenty in 2022 with her young family.

Post-Graduate Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy (City University London)

Level 2 qualification in British Sign Language (BSL)

BA (Hons) in Early Childhood Studies and Deaf Studies (University of Wolverhampton)
